Our tours are inclusive for anybody who would love to spend the day at the Alice Sanctuary. As anyone who has taken one before will tell you, they are very memorable. Presented by TAS’s founder, tours run on Saturdays throughout the summer, commencing after our Opening Day Fundraiser in June. Tour content is appropriate for all ages, however, the tour can be long for little ones as we have a lot of acres to walk and talk from 11-1, and then more animal interaction following lunch. NOTE: there must be one guardian for every young one ages 0-6 years old.
Because these tours help us generate much-needed funds for resident care, we ask for a minimum donation of $10 per tour participant for public tours.
**New** PRIVATE TOURS: Private tours are a great option for large groups or families that would like to spend the day together. These spots are reserved with a PREPAID MINIMUM DONATION OF $400. 15 person max
Disclaimer — The Alice Sanctuary is NOT a petting zoo. While we encourage respectful interaction, the Alice Sanctuary is a safe and secure space for our residents, and as such, all interaction is done at their discretion. Our tours are garnered for our residents and story telling. They are not heavy content laden tours but they do have relevant information that is discussed at different point of the tours. We want to be clear – we do this for the residents and express their stories of triumph and healing. Our founder is aware of the group and their needs with use of language. We select age appropriate content to share with our groups.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Tours run from 11am-3pm. (arrive 15 minutes early).
At 11, we begin our 2-hour walkthrough. You will be introduced to all the residents and have an opportunity to hear their stories.
At 1pm, we take a break for a plant-based potluck lunch; please bring something to share with the group. Out of respect for our residents, we ask and appreciate that all foods you bring be animal product free. We always provide vegan and gluten free burgers with whole wheat wraps and/or ciabatta buns.
At 2pm, you are welcomed to walk around and sit with the animals you have gotten to know a little bit about. (While we encourage respectful interaction, the Alice Sanctuary is a safe and secure space for our residents, and as such, all interaction is done at their discretion.)
